एशिया कप 2023 : बैटिंग में भारतीय टीम भले ही लड़खड़ाई पर गेंदबाजों ने संघर्ष कर रही श्रीलंकाई टीम को ऑल आउट कर भारत को एशिया कप के फाइनल में पहुंचा दिया. मंगलवार को खेले गए मैच में दुनिथ वेल्लालागे को उनके बेहतरीन ऑलराउंड प्रदर्शन के लिए प्लेयर ऑफ द मैच चुना गया.
केएल राहुल, विराट के सैंकड़े और कुलदीप के पंजे के अगले ही दिन भारत कोलंबो में एशिया कप के एक और सुपर 4 मुकाबले में श्रीलंका से भिड़ने उतरा. टॉस जीत कर रोहित शर्मा ने पहले बल्लेबाजी का फैसला लिया, पाकिस्तान के साथ कल खेलने उतरे शार्दुल ठाकुर की जगह भारतीय टीम ने इस मैच में अक्षर पटेल को उतारा.
रोहित और शुभमन गिल ने पिछले मैच की तरह ही इस मैच में भी भारत को सम्भली हुई शुरुआत दी. पिछले मैच में पाकिस्तानी और भारतीय गेंदबाजों की तुलना में श्रीलंकाई गेंदबाजों से इस मैच में गेंद कम स्विंग होती दिखी, शुरुआत में लंकाई गेंदबाज लाइन से भटके हुए थे तो फील्डर भी गेंद लपक नही रहे थे.
सातवें ओवर में रोहित ने कसुन रजिथा की गेंद पर सामने छक्का मार कर 248 मैचों में अपने वनडे कैरियर में दस हजार रन पूरे किए. विकेट की तलाश में श्रीलंकाई कप्तान दासुन शनाका ने पहले दस ओवर में ही खुद को मिलाकर अपने चार गेंदबाज आजमा लिए पर उन्हें कोई सफलता नही मिली. उनके दसवें ओवर में रोहित ने चार चौके जड़े, जिसमें एक शानदार स्क्वायर ड्राइव कर मारा चौका भी शामिल था.
जब लग रहा था कि भारत आसानी से इस मैच में बड़ा स्कोर बनाएगा तभी बारहवें ओवर में गेंदबाजी के लिए आए बाएं हाथ के स्पिनर ने अपनी उंगलियों का जादू दिखाना शुरू किया. दुनिथ वेल्लालागे ने अपने तीन ओवरों में भारतीय टीम के मुख्य बल्लेबाजों शुभमन, विराट और रोहित को आउट कर दिया.
शुभमन और रोहित के पास वेल्लालागे की ड्रिफ्ट लेती गेंदों का कोई जवाब नही था और दोनों ही बोल्ड हुए. इसके बाद श्रीलंकाई कप्तान ने के एल राहुल और ईशान किशन के सामने दोनों छोरों से स्पिन आक्रमण लगा दिया. धनन्जय डी सिल्वा ने भी दूसरे छोर से भारतीय बल्लेबाजों पर दबाव बनाए रखा और अपने पहले तीन ओवरों में सिर्फ नौ रन दिए थे.
